CARAT/ WEIGHT

The "carat" is a measurement of weight in a diamond that is used to indicate size. The standard definition of a carat is fixed at 200 milligrams (1/5 of a gram). One carat is divided into 100 ‘points’ so that a diamond of 25 points is described as a quarter of a carat, or 0.25 carats.

Size is the most obvious factor is determining the value of a diamond, but two diamonds of equal sizes can have different qualities, affecting their relative market value. Diamonds of a high quality can be found in all size ranges.

COLOR

Although most diamonds look colorless, others can contain slight tinges of yellow or brown, some of which are called ‘champagne’ diamonds.

There is an alphabetical grading system (shown below) that is used to measure diamond color.

The diamonds we carefully select always fall between a G and I grading, a near colorless range we think is the ideal marriage between diamond quality and overall value.
